At Rathcool Aerodrome, we need additional volunteer crew during operational hours to provide fire cover. We are in need of volunteers to help us with this important safety aspect.
Duties of the volunteer firefighter include:
- Responding to an aircraft incident on the airfield
- Responding to a fire incident on the airfield
- Extinguishing fires using the provided fire equipment and fire tender
- Caring for and maintaining fire equipment and PPE
- Various charity duties whilst on base
What do you get for your time volunteering as firefighting crew?
You will be fully trained to the appropriate standard for firefighting for the level required, and will receive a new skill and certificate! Ongoing training is provided and there may be need in the future to also attend first aid courses.
The charity duties to be carried out whilst on base will vary, and we welcome those with other skills that may support our lifesaving efforts.
