Note – reporting in the media that the charity-led Irish Community Rapid Response (ICRR) service is moving from Cork to Roscommon are incorrect.
The ICRR Cork based Air Ambulance Service is not moving from Cork to Roscommon. ICRR’s existing HEMS service (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) based in Rathcool, Co, Cork is continuing to operate full-time, as it is. No change to it.
However, what is happening is that a second back-up helicopter leased by ICRR, is in addition going to work in Roscommon four days a month to support continuity of the Air Corps operated service there.
